This is just an update on the Young Classicist Awards Details 2025.
All schools and students are invited to once more compete in the Young Classicist Awards for 2025!
The project should be based on a Classical World theme and can be artistic, academic, performance, music, or anything they wish. However - whether artwork, song, model, or story - all projects should be presented as a doc, pdf, optx, pdf, WMV file. If the file is too large (such as large videos) we may not be able to accept them.
There are 5 categories:
Junior Award: for all 1st to 3rd year students.
TY Award: For all TY students.
Senior Award: for all 5th and 6th years.
Athena Award: for the entry that best connects a Classical topic to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Ancient Languages Awards: for the projects that engage or include relevant research for Ancient Languages.
We will only be accepting 3 entries per each category from each school. This limitation is to prevent us getting huge numbers of entries that our volunteers and judges cannot administer. We recommend that if you have a large number of students wishing to compete, that you host an internal school competition, submitting the top three per category.
A shortlist of speakers will be selected from all entries.
All will be invited to attend our Young Classicist Awards Symposium in UCD in April or May 2025 (exact date TBC). More information on the itinerary and activities for the Symposium will be released next term.
All entries must be submitted to the email address youngclassicistireland@gmail.com by the school/teacher. Permission Forms should be submitted with each project or they may not be accepted.
