Thanks a million Tadhg. Alright paper overall. Some students may not know the word co-opted though in Q 11 and if you didn't identify the Judgement of Paris image you were fucked for all parts of that question. A bit unfair if you ask me.
I completely agree Ian. I also think the wording of some questions in the short answer section could throw the candidates a bit. I still think it’s unfair that they must answer all 10 questions in section A; it means they are very tight for time. Some of the questions are quite long for short answer questions compared to others and yet all are worth 20 marks (I think all worth 20 marks is fair btw but the content of each question could be balanced better). Essentially they have 7,5 minutes per question in section A If dividing the time between section A & B evenly which gives 1 hour 15 minutes per section. That’s very tight for some of the lengthier short answer questions. The essay section was nice but again, if tight on time they might not get across their points fully. I tell my students to do the essays first & do them well, giving 30 minutes to the 80 mark questions & 15 to the 40. Overall I think section B was nice but section A was just alright. The SEC really need to look more closely at the syllabus requirements when choosing the wording & content of the exam questions.
